Dunkunsthalle is thrilled to present DIS: Everything But The World, on Saturday, January 27th, 12pm - 12am. The 38 minute film will screen continuously from noon to midnight. Do not miss this unique one day event.
Everything But The World is a non-linear, natural history show about us — Homo sapiens. In a series of interrelated vignettes, Everything But The World links the agricultural revolution to Amazon fulfillment centers, addresses the gulf between the complexity of humans’ global existence and the smallness of their private, everyday lives, and confronts our obsession with “the end of the world”, knowing the arrogance of that word: ‘the’.
Such civilization-bending projects can’t be realized alone, and Everything But The World features myriad collaborators: the unreliable narrator/podcast host (Leilah Weinraub), an early sapien (Omayhra Mota), the friendly-threatening de-extinction enthusiast host Branch (Ryan Trecartin) and his inevitable-fossil compatriot Banter (Lizzie Fitch), a drive-thru orator (Brontez Purnell), and legendary civil rights attorney (Ron Kuby); writers including Ava Tomasula y Garcia, Casey Jane Ellison, Leah Hennessey and Emily Allan; and contributing directors like artist Abdullah Al-Mutairi and filmmaker Theo Anthony have been woven together by editor Anthony Valdez with an original score by Fatima Al Qadiri.
