Internetausdrucker Bookstore: Extended Hours
Last month, Rhizome kicked off the start of their curatorial residency at Dunkunsthalle with Internetausdrucker Bookstore & Reading Room. "Internetausdrucker," a mocking German word literally, "a person who prints out the Internet" that grew in popularity during the 2010s, was used to describe people who were slow to adapt to the digital lifestyle and would print out email threads and other online materials rather than reading them on screen. Now, as part of their curatorial residency at Dunkunsthalle, Rhizome has reinterpreted the term as the concept behind their printed matter pop-up bookshop and reading room.
Bookstore hours have been extended through the end of May. On Thursdays from 12-7pm, visitors to Dunkunsthalle can browse "printed Internet" materials by Rhizome program participants such as Inpatient Press, Christopher Clary, Do Not Research, Roopa Vasudevan, and more. Along with books, posters, and clothing for sale, Rhizome has curated a selection of their office library for reading within the space.
